Brendan Fraser is an American actor who has appeared in over 60 films. Born in Indianapolis in 1968 to Canadian parents, Fraser grew up in London and Rome as well as the American Midwest due to his father’s position as a travel executive. Fraser’s theatrical training was at Seattle's Cornish Institute. 

After a few significant early supporting roles, Brendan Fraser landed his first important starring role in George of the Jungle in 1997. Later that year, Fraser starred in the independent film Still Breathing, written, produced and directed by Texan James F. Robinson. The film is set in Los Angeles and San Antonio where The Jim Cullum Jazz Band appears on-camera. The Band is heard throughout the film soundtrack, sometimes in original songs and arrangements penned by band members.

Fraser plays an eccentric San Antonio puppeteer and dreamer Fletcher McBracken in Still Breathing. The story revolves around Fletcher’s romantic pursuit of “Roz” (played by Joanna Going). Fraser was honored for this role with "Best Actor" at the Seattle Film Festival.

In 1998 Fraser starred opposite Sir Ian McKellan in the highly acclaimed drama Gods and Monsters. Starring roles for Fraser in the box-office hits The Mummy and The Mummy Returns followed this critical success. In 2004 Fraser played a major role in the Oscar-winning film Crash.

More recently, Brendan Fraser has had popular action-adventure roles as well as diverse stage and screen projects, including voice roles on the animated TV shows Scrubs, King of the Hill and The Simpsons as well as a starring role in the 2013 animated feature film Escape from Planet Earth.

Fraser also stars in the 2012 independent comedy Whole Lotta Sole, and is slated to play William Tell in The Legend of William Tell.
