Bud Freeman: The Story of a Chicago Jazzman marks Jesse Caldwell’s radio debut. He has appeared on stage in the Bay Area for a decade. His last stage role was H. C. Curry in The Rainmaker at the California Conservatory Theatre of San Leandro, where he has also appeared in I’m Not Rappaport, Love Letters, Lucky Stiff, Light Up The Sky and The Mousetrap.

 

He has received Dean Goodman Choice Awards for his portrayals of Charlie Dyer in the American Citizens Theater’s production of Staircase and Ben Franklin in Napa Valley Reperatory production of 1776. During the summer of 2004 he had the time of his life rocking and rolling and playing Norman Petty in Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story. He has also appeared locally with 42nd Street Moon, American Musical Theatre of San Jose, Contra Costa Musical Theatre, the Exit Theatre, Pacific Alliance Stage Co., Playhouse West, Shotgun Players, the Willows Theatre Co. and at the Woodminster Amphitheatre. Early in his career he toured the U.S.A. with the National Shakespeare Co. and worked at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Jesse has a B.A. in Drama from Tufts University and an MFA in Acting from Stanford. In addition, he holds a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of California.
